With one cable and an iPad adapter, you can display everything you see on your iPad, on your HDTV. So you can show your photos to the whole family, or watch movies on the big screen, or play games on your TV.
If you have an iPad 2 or newer, all you need is a Digital A/V Adapter from Apple ($39.00) and any HDMI cable to connect the adapter to your TV. Almost all HDTV’s have a connector for an HDMI cable, which is available at most electronic stores for a few dollars. Just plug in the adapter and cable, and it all works!
If you’d like more details on how to hook it all up, this Best Buy site has a nice description of the step-by-step process along with a numbered photo.
A few final notes and suggestions: You don’t need to get the most expensive HDMI cable, but the quality of the cable will affect the integrity of your picture. Some protected movies cannot be mirrored. And remember that the second slot at the double end of the iPad adapter is for the USB cable to your power adapter, and does not get connected to the TV!
